For improved guiding of the mat pass the start-end under the round guide rail at the bottom of the frame, before fixing the bowls mat to the spindle. If you allow the frame to move towards the mat during rolling, the castors may be locked in parallel formation by placing the locking pins through the holes in the frame into the holes in the castor housings. The castors may also be locked to assist in running the frame in a straight line when unrolling the bowls mat. When more than one mat is stored in the frame, load the bottom spindle first (unload it last) to retain stability of the unit. Mats may be prevented from unwinding using buckled Velcro belts, two or three per mat, available from the handling unit supplier.
How to Attach Individual Types of Carpet to the Handling Unit Spindles:
All of our handling units are supplied with 'hook' Velcro® to be attached to each of the spindles. Strips of 'loop' Velco® are supplied which must be fixed to the end of the bowls carpet in the appropriate way. The method of fixing depends on the type of carpet backing foam and the way in which the carpet is recommended to be rolled.
All three have a polyethylene foam or latex foam backing and should be rolled with the backing on the outside.
Fix the self adhesive loop Velcro® strips to the backing surface, close to the ends of the mat, spaced to match the hook Velcro on the spindle. Position with double-sided tape and secure by stitching through carpet/velcro or by use of heavy-duty staples.
Join the loop Velcro tabs to the hook Velcro on the machine spindle and wind using the crank handle.
Wygreen, Sure Green, Clubgreen and Original Regalgreen
All four have a chipfoam or a latex backing and are usually rolled with the playing surface on the outside.
Fix the self adhesive loop Velcro® strips to the carpet surface close to the end of the mat, spaced to match the hook Velcro on the spindle. Position with double-sided tape and secure by stitching through carpet/velcro or by use of heavy-duty staple. Fix to the machine and roll as above.
